IB Journey Somewhere in the US

I know this is late, but I am done! For like, a day and a half now. IB is finished! Oh happy day.

Now I just have two makeup ap exams, and the testing will be over!

One more exam!!!

Spanish! And it’s all done in one testing period! I am so happy. Almost done with IB!

Biology exam tomorrow! AP in the morning, IB in the afternoon. Needless to say, I’m a little worried. It’s my favorite subject, so I have the desire to do really well. Oh well. This is a very stressful time. Hopefully I know the topics really well for paper 2 :D

On another note, I’m not exactly sure what I will do with this site as I head off to college. I suppose I’ll continue to help those who need it, maybe I’ll post my scores for those who are nosey. Maybe not. We will see. Anyone has suggestions, just send let me know!

So after taking AP (haha what a joke, I don’t even know why we had to take them. Maybe half of the IB class even attempted writing for AP lit, and a handful of those actually tried to write well) and IB test for a century, we are halfway through! Everything has been like, scarily easily o.O Looks like they used up the hard questions for 2012. Hopefully the math paper is easy tomorrow :D

Monday is going to suck. AP bio, followed by paper 1 and 2 for bio. Then Tuesday is paper 3. But hey! Nearly done. And I am certain I have passed everything. Too bad my mind is too fatigued to study for paper 2…

So I am procrastinating studying for tomorrow, and decided that I would give everyone who is tracking my progress with IB exams/ mentally destabilization a reference point of what I am taking.

I have 19 exams to take. I have taken three so far. I am taking HL psych, bio, and English. SL history, mathematics, and Spanish B. I will take the AP bio, psych, English lit, Spanish, and calculus AB exams.

I am tired already, with so many exams still to take. Hoping or the best!

So that was as easy as that exam could be. So easy. It had o contain my excitement when I saw the questions on that psych exam. That was wonderful.

Now to forget all of these studies, so I can memorize the studies for tomorrow! Woo…

Psych tomorrow D: Noooooooooooooo.

On a slightly more professional note, HL English is done. Which is good. By Tuesday, I’ll have two HLs done. Such a full week of testing between IB and AP exams.

Hopefully the psych questions are easy. I’m not so confident with this subject. Especially Paper 2.

So, back to studying. Good luck to all those taking exams this week!

So, paper 1 is done. I, of course, chose the prose piece. I’m pretty certain I did not fail, and that’s all I aim for in life.

Tomorrow is paper 2. Now to try and make up some connection between the dramas we read. Or not. I really need to try to study though.

Did I mention the AP exams on top of IB exams? There are way too many exams to take. Way too many. I’m testing ever day, pretty much every session next week. Wow. Yeah.

Feel free to share the misery, inquire of the misery, or whatever you may want to send an ask about!

So yeah. Exams for me start tomorrow.

I’ll just be in the corner crying if you need me.

No, but seriously, everyone stay calm. We’ve been sort of preparing for two years for this. I’m sure it’ll be okay….

If anyone needs any help or advice, send me a message!

I feel like one of the hardest parts of revising and going through in preparation for exams is knowing where to start. So, here is just some general stuff of what I’ve been doing and plan to do.

Math- I’m in SL math. Basically, just take as many practice paper 1 and 2 that you can stand. We’ve done like, 3 of each in class and may still do two or three more. And I’ll probably go through those and work out all the problems I got wrong as we get closer.

English HL- For this, I’m just going to go through, write down a basic plot structure, main characters, and two or three quotes from each of the plays we covered. I may go back and reread one of them is time allows. Also, just write as many practice papers. Especially paper 1. Learn how much you can cover in 2 hours, and where your limits are.

Biology HL- Going to go through and highlight all the notes, reread worksheets, go over past tests. I’ll probably outline the textbook too. I’m feeling pretty confident about this one. Make sure you practice plenty of DBQs, as those are a large percentage to gamble away on something silly like not being able to read a type of graph

Psych HL- Outline all the LO to be prepared to write an essay. I’m hoping to be able to complete this, but it is a very large task. In the very least, find versatile studies that will fit several questions and learn them inside and out.

Spanish B SL- Practice exams again. I’m terrible at spanish, I really am, but I will probably pass with all the practice. If you take enough, you can discover patterns in the language and questions that allow you to sort of guess the right answer even if you have no clue what the article is saying.

History SL- I’ll probably just make comparison charts for the wars and stuff, practice DBQs, and know events. I haven’t really thought too hard about this, as I’m not really concerned.

There! My make shift schedule of things I need to do this month. Or have done last month. Maybe it’ll help someone, maybe not. Good luck with exams! Try not to put off reviewing too long, it is a lot of information. Especially with HL science and social studies classes.

My personal experience with IB and any other related academic area.
